Community Involvement
LJE believes in giving back to the community that we live and work in.
Louis Jones is a founding member of the board of directors of the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering Technical Charter High School that serves Chicago's inner city students.
Mr. Jones served as a member of the Illinois Capital Development Board for over 3 years as an appointee of Governor Jim Edgar and later of Governor George Ryan.
Mr. Jones currently serves as a member of the Illinois Employment Security Advisory Board having served continuously since the beginning of the administration of governor Jim Edgar, for the past 12 years appointed by three different governors.
Mr. Jones and other LJE senior personnel participate in various civic endeavors such as Principal For a Day, the New House Competition , various career days in Chicago Public Schools, toy drives and student outings related to the careers in the construction industry.
LJE and its senior staff maintain relationships with both the minority and the majority business community by way of memberships in the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Black Contractors United (BCU), the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), and the Alliance of Business Leaders and Entreprenuers (ABLE).
